The Devil is in the Details

Details matter! This is true regarding relationships, transactions, careers, and pretty much everything else. Details are also important when it comes to how we view others and how they view us. Just think of the first person that comes to your mind. How would you describe them? Now think about how others would describe you? Our God is rightfully described in the greatest and most admirable light. He is the Almighty, the Creator, the Most High, the Lord, the Everlasting, the God of Hosts, and more. Interestingly, Satan is also talked about and described in many ways. Following are eight of those descriptions.
He is described as the accuser of God’s people (Revelation 12:10).
He is described as the adversary who is seeking to devour someone (1 Peter 5:8).
He is described as the one who deceives the whole world (Revelation 12:9; 2 Corinthians 11:3).
He is described as the devil (slanderer) (Matthew 4:1; Hebrews 2:14).
He is described as the enemy who sowed tares among the good wheat (Matthew 13:25, 28, 39).
He is described as the evil one (Matt. 6:13; 13:19, 38; 1 John 2:13-14; 5:4, 18-19; Eph. 6:16).
He is described as a liar/father of lies (John 8:44).
He is described as a murderer (John 8:44).
What incredible details of how this being is seen! All of these labels are a stark contrast to God. In the world, there are two types of people; children of God and children of Satan. How others view us and describe us can say a lot about whose child we are. The devil is in the details!
